Considering a Boiler System?

HVAC Mistakes

If you are considering using a boiler system to heat your home, there are many benefits to this type of system. The easiest way to understand the difference between a boiler system, and a furnace system is that a boiler system uses water to heat your home, and a furnace uses air to heat your home. Both options are good options to consider but depending on what you are looking for, a boiler system may work better.

About Boilers

A boiler system uses hot water to distribute heat throughout your home. Boiler systems can create a comfortable environment for your home without the annoying warm air drafts you would get with a furnace system. The other benefit to using a boiler system is that the system will not blow dust particles around your home. This is especially great if you have family members that suffer from severe indoor allergies.

Although the expenses may be a bit higher to use a boiler system for heat, and a central air system for cooling, when you weight the comfort factors, using hot water heating is definitely worth the additional cost. Maintenance on boiler systems are also completely different than the maintenance routine of a furnace system. High efficiency and oil boilers require annual service while a cast iron boiler can go for years with minimal damage. This is a nice change from the air filters you need to change every couple of months with a furnace system!
