
Say hello to Hoosier Indoor Air’s service technician, Brendan Ellis!
As a service technician for Hoosier Indoor Air for over two years, Brendan Ellis is on the front line of customer service. He spends his days responding to our customer’s calls, assessing their heating and cooling problems, working with them to determine the best course of action to get it fixed, and making sure they are taken care of by personally performing maintenance and repairs, both big and small.
Before joining Hoosier Indoor Air a little over two years ago, Brendan worked as a marketing manager for a tire company. When he realized his current job wasn’t quite fulfilling and decided he needed a change, he met the Rich brothers through a friend who quickly showed him the ropes, helped him get trained, and started his career. He proved to be a quick learner and has been with the company ever since.
The average day of an HVAC service technician isn’t always easy. Some repairs can be quite tricky or extensive, you usually have to work in conditions that are very hot or very cold, you usually interact with a wide variety of people all day, and most of them aren’t necessarily in the best mood because of the problem they are currently dealing with.
But, it is actually those reasons why Brendan loves his job so much. Ok, maybe with the exception of having to work in extreme conditions…
“As far back as I can remember I have always had a knack for fixing things and a strong desire to help people,” Brendan said. “Helping people has always been a passion for me; with this job, my last job, and even back when I was 10 years old on my paper route. I liked learning about the people I was delivering to, making sure I put the paper in their preferred place.”
While he is no longer helping people fix flat tires and get them back on the road, he now spends his days helping people in a different and equally important way: keeping them, their family, and their home’s comfortable by fixing their heating and cooling systems and helping to make their day better.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better situation and company to come make the transition with,” Brendan said. “The idea of the transition was stressful, but Jeff and Tom Rich really took me under their wing. This is a really tight knit company, and the attention and care to our team and our customers is the best I have ever been around.”
While fixing things and working with equipment has always been second nature to Brendan, when he isn’t working he enjoys spending time in nature, far away from machines. A skilled archer, he enjoys spending time at the range doing target practice, hunting, and fishing. Of course as a father to two children, this time can be hard to come by so he also spends much of his free time with his children and wife of five years.
Despite being born in Austin, Texas as the middle child of a family of six kids, Brendan moved to Noblesville when he was young and considers himself a Hoosier, through and through.
